Northern Lights Visible over Badlands Observatory

On November 4, 2021 we were treated to an spellbinding show of aurora, visible in many areas across South Dakota. Aurora was noticeable at around 10 p.m. when the KP index was at 4. As the night progressed, the KP index increased to solar storm level, ending at KP-8 by morning. We captured these images as we stood in front of the Observatory with the lights dancing in the backround.
