Reserve your Spot!
Seating is limited. Reserve your spot!
Night Tours are limited to 10-20 participants, depending on the event. To reserve for more than one person, FIRST use the arrows beside Quantity at the top right corner to indicate the # of persons 10 years and older in your group and then select your date by clicking “Book” below the date. The number of remaining spots will show below the “Book” button.
IF YOU DO NOT SEE THE DATE YOU WANT, PLEASE CHECK BACK TWO DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE DATE. IF THE DATE DOES NOT APPEAR, EITHER THE OBSERVATORY IS CLOSED OR THE WEATHER CONDITIONS DO NOT ALLOW FOR USE OF THE TELECOPES. THE OBSERVATORY IS CLOSED ON BRIGHT MOON DAYS AS NOTED ON THE NIGHTTIME PROGRAMS PAGE.
Please note: We are in the Mountain Time zone. You are not required to change the time zone to your local zone and if you do, the reservation time shown on your confirmations and reminders may be confusing. The feature is built in to the scheduling system to allow your personal calendars to interact with appointments and we cannot disengage it. If you have any questions about your scheduled time, please feel free to contact us.
If you prefer not to use the online booking system, we welcome you to call us at 605-381-1521 or email observatory@goldenwest.net and we will be happy to handle your reservation personally.
Payment is due upon arrival at Badlands Observatory. The cost per person is $35.00 (ages 10 and over) for the all nighttime tours. There is no charge for ages under 10 years old.
Email observatory@goldenwest.net or call (605) 381-1521 to reserve the Observatory for your private party. Treat your group to a private nighttime event for $315.00.
CANCELLATION: If you find you need to cancel your reservation, please do so at your earliest convenience. Our space is limited and your early cancellation allows another guest to take your spot. We have resisted requiring prepayment, but will be forced to change our policy if we encounter “no-shows”. Please be courteous to us and others with your responsible booking.
